In the last few years the British Title has been split to incorporate an under 105kg class which has led to many more athletes being able to compete. There is a very high standard of competition with athletes lifting many times their body weight in certain events.

The 2006 Final was hosted by Portsmouth’s Strongman Association at the Mountbatten Sports Centre, which made a great indoor venue.

The show was well represented with a very high calibre of athletes from every corner of Britain taking part, including Ministry of Muscle's Mick Morritt taking part.

Mick having done very well in several novice shows, certainly cut his teeth at this event with his final placing of 12 out of a strong lineup of 15 highly experienced athletes.

Mick only had 6 weeks to prepare for the show but still managed several new personal bests and did himself and the Gym proud. Well done Mick!!

Mick is now in training for the 2007 season and will be a force to be reckoned with. Best of luck Mick!
